full-time Payroll Manager APIC Solutions is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead and oversee payroll operations across multiple states and entities. This position is responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of weekly payroll while managing certified payroll reporting, prevailing wage compliance, payroll controls, and process improvement initiatives. The Payroll Manager provides leadership to the payroll team and serves as a key business partner to Human Resources, Finance, and Operations to support organizational objectives and deliver exceptional employee service. The ideal candidate brings strong payroll expertise, leadership experience, and a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment. The Payroll Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing payroll operations for APIC Solutions, ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of multi-state payroll. This role manages certified payroll reporting, prevailing wage compliance, payroll controls, and payroll process improvements while providing leadership and direction to the Payroll team. The Payroll Manager partners closely with Human Resources, Finance, and Operations to support business objectives, maintain regulatory compliance, and deliver exceptional service to employees across the organization
Required:
Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible payroll experience. Prior leadership, management, or supervisory experience. Certified payroll and prevailing wage payroll experience. Demonstrated experience processing high-volume, multi-state payroll. Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations, including wage and hour requirements, payroll taxation, deductions, garnishments, and final pay requirements. Experience with payroll controls, reconciliations, reporting, audits, and process improvement. Strong understanding of payroll systems and automated payroll processing. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and sound judgment.
Preferred:
Construction industry payroll experience. Spectrum ERP/Payroll experience. Experience supporting multi-entity payroll operations. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification.
