Job description Senior Manager, Payroll (Temp-to-Perm) Schedule Hybrid on-site; three days per week in NYC office (flexible days). Compensation $100-$110/hr commensurate with experience Benefits & Growth High-visibility, strategic role supporting payroll operations for 1,200+ US employees across 13-15 locations Opportunity to lead process automation and system integration initiatives within a law firm recognized for transformation. Ability to supervise and mentor staff to ensure professional growth Direct interaction with senior leadership and visible business impact Why This Opportunity Stands Out Immediate executive exposure with ability to shape payroll operations during a critical transition Hybrid on-site flexibility, extremely convenient Midtown location near Grand Central Station Potential to convert to permanent for top performers Ability to recommend best practices and leverage technology to update payroll processing software and create efficiencies within the team Key Responsibilities Of The Payroll Senior Manager Lead and supervise a high-performing payroll team; ensure accountability and knowledge transfer Oversee and streamline weekly, biweekly, and semimonthly US payroll cycles for over 1,200 employees Provide oversight for complex compensation structures including overtime, bonuses and special payments Drive process automation and optimize integrations between Workday (timekeeping/reporting) and ADP (payroll processing) Deliver advanced reporting and analytics to Talent Management and Finance leadership, leveraging advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, vlookups) Serve as hands-on subject matter expert and escalation point for all payroll compliance, benefits coordination, and system/process change Ensure compliance for payroll tax filings and reporting Collaborate with other teams such as finance, benefits and HR to ensure alignment as it relates to payroll Must-Have Skills/Experience Payroll leadership experience in a large company/professional services environment (1,000+ employees/multi-location) Hands-on expertise with a major payroll system (ADP, or similar) and HRIS (Workday, or similar) Advanced Excel competency (pivot tables, vlookups) Strong communication skills both written and verbal. Able to manage and mentor staff in a variety of locations Comfortable working in a fast paced environment #
