At CASTO, people are our most important asset, and the Payroll & Benefits Manager plays a vital role in developing associates and shaping the organizational culture. The Payroll & Benefits Manager will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities, helping to plan and administer important functions, such as compensation and benefits.
BASIC FUNCTION
Manages the company's daily human resources functions, including benefits, compensation, leave, and safety. Provides support to all associates within the organization, including guidance on company policy.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Benefits:
Manage benefits, including coordinating open enrollment, processing changes, auditing bills, answering associate questions, and resolving issues with insurance providers and brokers Complete annual reporting, such as 1094/1095-Cs, Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA), and Creditable Coverage Disclosures. Ensure ACA compliance and track dependents reaching the maximum age for eligibility Reconcile benefits, such as FSA and COBRA, monthly and at the end of each plan yearCompensation and Payroll:
Manage the compensation and performance review process, including completing annual compensation survey submissions, annual review of market data, creating compensation sheets, launching performance reviews, assisting with technical questions, and providing guidance for performance concerns Enter all changes into the payroll system, ensuring integrity of the dataEmployment and Legal Compliance:
Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state regulations and conducting investigations. Complete annual compliance reporting, such asEEO-1, BLS
surveys, census surveys, etc. Ensure I-9 compliance by tracking and coordinating with associates who need to recertify their I-9 documents, and completing annual I-9 auditsAssociate Relations:
Act as a backup providing HR advisory service to associates and managers for associate-relations matters. Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of the associate handbook and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and organization as a whole, and to improve employee experience.Safety:
Manage Workers' Compensation claims Track and submit all OSHA reporting, such asOSHA 300 & 300A
logs annually Oversee the MVR procedures, including the annual review with our insurance company and completing quarterly checks to ensure compliance is maintained Oversee company leave programs, such as FMLA Act as a backup for Drug Free Workplace issues Other duties as assignedSKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. 2-5 years human resource experience preferred.PHR/SHRM-CP
certification a plus Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
