Interim Payroll Manager

Interim Payroll Manager Our client, a global technology organization, is seeking an Interim Payroll Manager to provide hands-on leadership and execution during a payroll transition. This position is fully remote and has a duration of 3 months.

Responsibilities:

Own end-to-end payroll processing for U.S. employees, ensuring timely and accurate execution Manage multi-state payroll compliance across a distributed workforce Validate and reconcile payroll data, including employee changes such as hires, terminations, and compensation updates Ensure accuracy of payroll outputs, reporting, and supporting documentation Partner with HR and accounting teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure data integrity Maintain uninterrupted payroll operations across all pay cycles Document processes and support knowledge transfer to internal or offshore payroll resources Operate independently in a lean environment with limited internal payroll support Support payroll-related accounting activities, including reconciliations and journal entry preparation Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to enhance accuracy and scalability

Requirements:

5+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience Strong experience managing multi-state U.S. payroll Ability to independently run payroll end-to-end with minimal oversight Experience working in fast-paced or transitional environments High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
