Payroll - Finance About the Role A leading organization is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and hands-on Payroll Manager to oversee and supervise payroll operations during a team member's leave of absence. In this interim position, you'll ensure that payroll is processed accurately, on time, and in full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. You will support and guide two payroll administrators and be responsible for handling complex payroll issues, such as garnishments and tax matters. Ideal candidates have extensive Dayforce experience and a passion for optimizing processes, staying ahead of payroll legislation, and leading teams effectively. Key Responsibilities Oversee the preparation, processing, and distribution of multi-state, end-to-end payroll (hourly, salaried, commissions, and bonuses) Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws Manage year-end processing, W-2 reconciliation, and payroll tax filings Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize the Ceridian Dayforce system Handle internal and external payroll audits (including 401k, Workers Comp), and prepare reports for finance leadership Act as the escalation point for complex payroll or tax issues, including garnishments Mentor and manage a small team of payroll administrators Identify opportunities to automate and improve payroll processes Qualifications 5-7 years of progressive payroll experience, including 2-3 years in a supervisory or management role Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field (preferred) Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation highly desirable Must have hands-on Ceridian Dayforce experience Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and other major payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, UKG) Strong knowledge of multi-state tax and FLSA regulations Key Competencies Superior attention to detail and accuracy High level of confidentiality and data integrity Strong problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented approach Clear communicator with team leadership ability What's Offered Competitive compensation: $45-55/hr (commensurate with experience) 100% remote role — work from anywhere in the US!
