Hybrid What You Will Do:
Lead and supervise payroll compliance activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to regulatory and contractual requirements Manage a team responsible for union reporting, certified payroll, garnishments, child support orders, employment verifications, and new hire reporting Review, audit, and approve compliance-related payroll transactions, filings, payments, and reports Maintain and monitor union deductions, fringe benefits, prevailing wage requirements, and other compliance-related payroll processes Coach, develop, and support team members while managing performance, workload distribution, and training initiatives Partner with Payroll, HR, Accounting, Operations, and external agencies to resolve issues and support audits, reporting, and compliance activities Drive continuous improvement by maintaining procedures, identifying process efficiencies, and ensuring deadlines are consistently met What You Will Need to
Be Successful:
3+ years of payroll experience, including exposure to payroll compliance, union payroll, or certified payroll reporting Previous supervisory, team lead, or people management experience Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, garnishments, employment verifications, and multi-state payroll practices Experience working with union agreements, compliance reporting, prevailing wage requirements, and audit support Proven ability to analyze complex payroll issues, solve problems, and maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders Proficiency with payroll systems and Microsoft Office applications; experience with enterprise HRIS platforms is preferred Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred) Experience with enterprise payroll systems such as Workday (preferred) Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification or similar professional designation (preferred)
