Payroll Coordinator I ArcBest - 3.6 Fort Smith, AR Job Details 1 day ago Qualifications Contract management Full Job Description Job Description The Payroll Coordinator processes the compensation for contractual and non-contractual hourly employees. This position also ensures hourly employees are compensated in accordance with all applicable labor contracts, federal and state wage and hour laws, and company policy. The daily responsibilities of the Payroll Coordinator is an on-going challenge due to the time-sensitive nature of processing various payroll schedules and requires some flexibility when working around payroll holiday schedules. Responsibilities Process the compensation for the hourly paid employees, including utility drivers under the NMFA. Compute payroll for employee when reviewing errors made by terminal in entering hours or payroll due upon termination and the applicable federal and state withholding and other deductions. Update payroll systems to maintain all companies' confidential employee information including addition of new hires, wage increases, job classification changes, terminations and maintain payroll records. Interpret various labor contracts and assist in making decisions concerning the payment of hourly wages. Assist field personnel in the use of the Labor Management system and the process of reviewing exception reports. Assist Service Center Managers, operations supervisors and field payroll clerks in the collection of time and attendance data and absentee records for accurate payroll calculations and health, welfare and pension benefit payments. Review timecard/timesheet entries for hourly employees. Mail and distribute payroll. Approve paid time off for hourly employees. Other duties and projects, as assigned.
