Job Description
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking in a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Specialist to support end-to-end payroll operations for a growing organization in Phoenix, AZ we are partnered with for their hiring needs. The Payroll Coordinator will ensure employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. This is an onsite position $27.00-$30.00 per hour depending on experience. Job Responsibilities Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or weekly payroll for employees in accordance with company policies and payroll schedules. Review and validate employee timecards, attendance records, and payroll changes prior to payroll processing. Maintain payroll records, earnings, deductions, garnishments, bonuses, commissions, and benefit elections. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements. Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee inquiries, and paycheck-related concerns. Coordinate payroll data updates related to new hires, terminations, promotions, pay changes, and benefit deductions. Reconcile payroll reports and assist with month-end and year-end payroll activities. Process year-end distribution of W-2s and other payroll-related tax documents. Post payroll journal entries, and support month-end close. Maintain confidentiality of employee compensation and personal information. Assist with payroll audits and provide documentation as requested. Generate payroll reports and workforce analytics for management review. Qualifications Required Minimum 3 years of multi-state payroll processing experience. High school diploma or equivalent required. Strong knowledge of payroll practices, wage and hour laws, tax withholding requirements, and garnishments. Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Paychex, UKG, Workday, Ceridian, or similar platforms. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, VLOOKUPs, and data reconciliation. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. If you meet the minimum requirements apply now!
