A Payroll Specialist manages the financial and accounting work involved in processing payroll for a company or organization. Manages employee benefits programs and payroll deductions, or assists with evaluating compensation levels for different job categories and titles.
Vaco has partnered with a highly respected organization seeking a Payroll Specialist with strong high-volume payroll processing experience.

Responsibilities:
Process high-volume payroll transactions for approximately 1,000 employees while ensuring accuracy and compliance. Audit, validate, and reconcile time entry batches, labor records, and payroll reports. Process off-cycle payments, payroll adjustments, corrections, and final paychecks. Support certified payroll reporting, prevailing wage compliance, garnishments, and payroll tax activities. Respond to employee payroll inquiries and generate payroll-related reports as needed.
Qualifications:
3-5+ years of payroll processing experience. Experience supporting high-volume payroll operations. Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and conditional formatting. Experience with payroll software and ERP systems; JD Edwards preferred. Construction, manufacturing, certified payroll, or multi-state payroll experience highly preferred. Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
