Full-Time About the Position We are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join our team in Buena Park. This position will be responsible for managing complex payroll processes, resolving payroll issues, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements, and maintaining accurate payroll records and reconciliations. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working independently with payroll systems, Excel, and multi-state payroll requirements. Responsibilities Process and resolve complex payroll issues involving earnings, taxes, deductions, PTO, garnishments, and employee records Research and apply federal, state, and local payroll laws and tax requirements Perform payroll-to-GL, tax, liability, deduction, garnishment, and year-end reconciliations Investigate payroll discrepancies and identify root causes Manage garnishment processing, deductions, reconciliations, and remittances Troubleshoot PTO/accrual calculations and payroll system issues Review payroll and HRIS configurations to ensure accurate calculations and deductions Work closely with Payroll, HR, Accounting/Finance, and other internal teams to resolve issues Maintain and improve payroll procedures, SOPs, internal controls, and documentation Identify compliance risks, recurring errors, and opportunities to improve payroll processes Utilize payroll reporting, analytics, automated tools, and AI-enabled resources to improve efficiency while verifying accuracy Support quarter-end and year-end payroll activities Maintain a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism Qualifications 4+ years of progressive payroll experience Experience with complex payroll processing and issue resolution Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll requirements Experience with multi-state payroll Strong experience with payroll reconciliations and investigating discrepancies Knowledge of garnishments, payroll taxes, deductions, PTO/accruals, and year-end payroll Experience with payroll/HRIS systems such as Paylocity, ADP, UKG, Ceridian, or similar Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Ability to research payroll regulations and independently determine appropriate solutions Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple deadlines and payroll priorities Education Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field preferred. Equivalent payroll experience may be considered. According to the job description, the role is specifically intended to function as a senior technical payroll resource with responsibility for complex payroll resolution, compliance, reconciliations, and process improvement. The minimum experience requirement is 4+ years, with strong experience in multi-state payroll, taxation, garnishments, reconciliations, and payroll/HRIS systems.Pay:
