Job Description
A well-established organization in Colma is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations during a critical period. This role requires a hands-on payroll professional with experience processing high-volume, bi-weekly payroll for 200+ employees and ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely payroll execution.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, can work independently, and has a strong understanding of payroll regulations, payroll systems, and employee record management. Experience supporting a public sector, government, or nonprofit organization is highly preferred.
Process bi-weekly payroll for 200+ employees accurately and on time.
Review payroll data, timesheets, earnings, deductions, garnishments, and tax withholdings.
Maintain payroll records and employee data within the payroll system.
Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Respond to employee payroll-related inquiries.
Reconcile payroll reports and assist with payroll audits.
Prepare payroll-related journal entries and support month-end close activities.
Coordinate with HR and Finance to ensure payroll changes are properly documented and processed.
Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and reporting.
