Payroll Specialist Century Group International Inc Huntington Beach, CA Job Details Contract $26 - $30 an hour 9 hours ago Qualifications Labor law compliance VLOOKUP function Payroll tax Team training Productivity software Excel data analysis Full Job Description Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Payroll Specialist to assist their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting pay rate of $26.00 to $30.00 per hour.
Job Responsibilities:
Process payroll transactions accurately using online payroll and time reporting systems. Collect, analyze, and maintain payroll data, including hours worked, taxes, deductions, and direct deposits. Prepare and process final checks in compliance with state regulations and company policies. Respond to payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly and professionally. Prepare payroll-related reports and maintain accurate records in accordance with retention policies.
Requirements:
Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel functions such as VLOOKUP and pivot tables. Apply strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in payroll processing. Communicate effectively with employees and management to address payroll issues and provide training when needed. Manage multiple priorities and consistently meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines. Utilize problem-solving skills to resolve payroll discrepancies and maintain compliance with regulations.
Qualifications:
An Associate's degree in Accounting or a related field; payroll or HR certification preferred. 5+ years of payroll experience, including multi-state and multi-unit payroll processing. Show familiarity with ADP Smart Compliance and experience with Workday systems as a plus. Exhibit knowledge of payroll laws, state overtime rules, and prevailing wage requirements. Display excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. REF#52490 #Ind-LA-OC
