The ideal candidate must have direct experience processing payroll from timecards, labor/job costing, check printing, and payroll tax filing, including overtime calculations, deductions, wage garnishments, payroll corrections, and payroll reconciliation. What You'll Do Process payroll end to end, from timecards through tax filings Audit Electronic Timekeeping entries for discrepancies and communicate with field personnel for corrections Import time data from the electronic timekeeping system into QuickBooks and double check for accuracy Apply California wage and hour rules: meal/rest break penalties, reporting time pay, weighted average overtime/double-time calculations, and qualified overtime exclusion calculations Set up and process wage garnishments Verify and reconcile labor and labor burden to Job Cost and Labor Cost reports Reconcile payroll and resolve discrepancies Prepare monthly workers' comp reports and labor reports; quarterly reports; and periodic audits Assist with payroll compliance documentation and reporting Stay current with applicable payroll and employment requirements. What You Bring (Required) Proven hands-on experience with the duties above, including California payroll and construction job costing QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise, Contractor Edition (not QuickBooks Online) Solid accounting fundamentals Strong Excel skills (formulas, lookups, INDEX/MATCH, imports/exports) Accuracy and discretion with confidential information Nice to Have Arcoro ExakTime experience Familiar with ClaudeAi scripts Prevailing wage/certified payroll Bilingual in English and Spanish To Apply
