Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team in Monterey Park, California. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while adhering to compliance standards. This role requires exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to providing outstanding service to employees across the organization.
Responsibilities:
  • Process payroll by collecting and reviewing employee information, calculating wages, making manual adjustments, and ensuring timely employee payments.
  • Verify and maintain accurate payroll records, including timesheets, timecard exceptions, new permanent data, and terminations.
  • Handle special payroll transactions such as bonuses, gifts, and other ad hoc adjustments.
  • Track and process deductions for child support, garnishments, tax levies, and other mandatory payroll requirements.
  • Respond to inquiries from government agencies by preparing detailed and accurate payroll reports.
  • Review and process unemployment claims promptly, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Calculate and issue final paychecks for terminated employees, ensuring all backup documentation is properly recorded.
  • Safeguard sensitive employee data and maintain payroll files in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address payroll-related concerns and support organizational needs.
