Overview Join our dynamic team as a Payroll Clerk and become a vital part of our financial operations! In this energetic role, you will manage payroll processing with precision, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. Your expertise will support compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies while maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your technical accounting skills and contribute to the smooth functioning of our HR and finance departments. Duties Process payroll using systems such as QuickBooks, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, Ceridian, or other supported payroll platforms. Enter and verify data related to employee hours, benefits, deductions, and tax information with meticulous attention to detail. Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare journal entries for general ledger integration. Ensure compliance with employment law, labor law, and tax regulations by staying current on relevant legislation. Administer benefits programs and handle related inquiries from employees regarding payroll and benefits administration. Maintain accurate records of payroll transactions, employee data, and audit documentation for internal review and external audits. Collaborate with HR systems and time & attendance systems to ensure seamless data flow and accurate payroll processing. Skills Proficiency in payroll systems such as QuickBooks, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, UltiPro, Ceridian, or similar platforms. Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, general ledger reconciliation, debits & credits, and journal entries. Experience with accounting software like QuickBooks or other financial management tools. Knowledge of employment & labor law, tax law, payroll tax regulations, and benefits administration. Skilled in data entry with high accuracy (10 key typing) and analysis skills for payroll reconciliation and reporting. Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems), time & attendance systems, and governmental accounting standards. Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while managing multiple priorities efficiently. $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
