Job Description
Description Robert Half Contracts Finance and Accounting team are hiring an entry level Accounting Clerk/Payroll Clerk to join a great construction firm in Roseville! This position would be contract to hire and you would work directly under the Controller. Working knowledge of payroll cycle and processes and applicable payroll laws and regulations. Knowledge of applicable wage and hour laws, payroll accounting practices, and payroll tax reporting and filing requirements. Ability to read, comprehend, and apply policies, procedures, practices, and recordkeeping requirements. Ability to compute and apply basic mathematical functions and computations, including percentages, decimals and prorated amounts. Demonstrates critical thinking skills with the ability to recognize, research and resolve questionable or complex data, and to determine solution or next steps. Ability to prioritize workload to complete assignments accurately and timely, and to meet strict timelines. Ability to interact and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties. Demonstrates respect for cultural and linguistic differences and promotes an inclusive work environment. Demonstrates initiative in providing feedback/input to improve workflow/processes. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with changing business priorities. Ability to maintain and work discreetly with confidential information.
Qualifications:
1-3 years payroll/accounting experience Proficient in Sage 300 Strong attention to detail & a high level of accuracy in all work Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred If you feel this is the job for you, apply today! - Practical knowledge of full-cycle payroll procedures from data review through payroll completion.
- Experience handling payroll for employee populations ranging from 101 to 500 workers.
- Familiarity with garnishments, deductions, and related payroll compliance requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately with confidential payroll information.
- Proficiency in reviewing payroll data, identifying inconsistencies, and resolving issues promptly.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet recurring deadlines.
