About Us Mataga of Stockton Cadillac GMC is a family-owned and operated automotive franchise serving Stockton and the greater Central Valley. Position Overview We're seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Payroll Coordinator to manage and support our dealership's payroll operations. This role ensures all employees are paid accurately and on time, maintains compliance with federal and state regulations, and serves as a trusted resource for payroll-related questions. This is a part-time, on-site position based in Stockton, California, with flexible scheduling to support business needs. Key Responsibilities Process bi-weekly (or applicable) payroll for dealership employees using our payroll system, ensuring accuracy in wages, commissions, bonuses, taxes, and deductions. Compile and verify payroll data from time sheets, sales reports, and other records, including hours worked, commissions, and incentive pay. Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, tax exemptions, and benefit changes. Prepare and file required federal, state, and local payroll tax reports and ensure timely payments and deposits. Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, leave balances, and payroll policies in a professional and confidential manner. Reconcile payroll accounts and assist with month-end and year-end reporting, including W-2 preparation. Support compliance with labor laws and dealership policies, including FLSA, California wage and hour laws, and garnishment orders. Collaborate with HR, accounting, and management to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. Maintain strict confidentiality of all payroll and employee information.
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
2+ years of payroll processing experience; automotive dealership or commission-based payroll experience preferred.
Education:
High school diploma required; associate degree in accounting, business, or related field is a plus.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., DealerTrack DMS, Netchex, or similar) and advanced Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel skills.
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of federal and California state payroll regulations, tax reporting, and compliance requirements.
Attributes:
High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, and excellent communication skills.
Certifications:
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification is a plus.
Work Schedule & Compensation Part-Time:
Approximately 20-25 hours per week (flexible schedule).
Location:
On-site at Mataga of Stockton Cadillac GMC, Stockton, CA.
Compensation:
