Responsibilities Position Overview:

The Payroll Specialist assumes primary responsibility for the Health System's in-house payroll processing. Primary responsibilities include the processing of payroll, garnishments and tax liabilities. The position will demonstrate knowledge of wage and hour law, payroll concepts and practices, and have the proven ability to interpret payroll procedures and policies, California Employer's Guide and the IRS' Employer's Tax Guide.

Qualifications Required:

High school graduate or equivalent (GED) One (1) year of experience in payroll processing and payroll tax reporting One (1) year of experience with payroll and time and attendance applications One (1) year of experience with in-house, payroll processing and taxation Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines under minimal supervision Ability to work independently, timely and identify and improve payroll processes Ability to resolve payroll issues and provide exceptional customer service Ability to exercise good judgement and discretion while maintaining confidential information Detail-oriented and exceptionally organized Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

Preferred:

One (1) year of hospital payroll background Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or other One (1) year of Meditech and/or ExpressNet software experience Overview When it comes to quality, we're 5 Star!
