Payroll Specialist

Position Summary:

The Payroll Specialist is a key role responsible for high-volume, multi-state payroll processing. This position handles all payroll functions, including data entry, processing, reporting, auditing, and serving as the first point of contact for employee payroll inquiries.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and process full-cycle weekly and bi-weekly multi-state payroll using ADP Workforce Now (WFN) Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions, including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, pay rate changes, deductions, terminations, and final pay Reconcile payroll and validate reports prior to submission for disbursement Process special transactions, including off-cycle payments and manual checks, in accordance with company policies Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing relevant information Provide excellent customer service by responding to a high volume of payroll-related inquiries in a timely manner Maintain payroll operations by following established policies and procedures and recommending improvements as needed Prepare, analyze, and audit standard and ad hoc payroll reports Maintain strict confidentiality and safeguard sensitive employee information Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations, including wage and hour requirements Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation Collaborate closely with Human Resources and Benefits teams to ensure accurate payroll processing

Education and Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience required Experience in high-volume environments; restaurant or retail industry preferred Advanced Excel skills required Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting.
