Senior Payroll Analyst - Stamford, CT Information Services Group - 3.6 Stamford, CT Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Microsoft Excel Regulatory compliance Data reporting State tax Cross-functional collaboration Payroll processing Cross-functional communication Financial compliance Excel data analysis Full Job Description Senior Payroll Analyst - Stamford, CT Position Overview The Senior Payroll Analyst is responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll processing for the United States and Canada, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This role involves managing payroll systems, analyzing data, resolving payroll discrepancies, and collaborating with HR, finance, and other departments to ensure payroll-related tasks are completed accurately and on time. This role works closely with benefits and other HR staff to ensure the proper application of benefits elections.
Responsibilities Payroll Processing:
Manage end-to-end payroll processing activities, including but not limited to calculating wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and relevant regulations
Systems Management:
Oversee payroll software systems, ensuring they are properly configured and updated to reflect changes in regulations, company policies, and employee data
Data Analysis:
Analyze payroll data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement. Generate reports and insights to support decision-making by management
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements. Stay informed about changes in legislation and update payroll processes accordingly (Both United States and Canada)
Problem Resolution:
Investigate and resolve payroll-related issues, including discrepancies in timesheets, pay rates, and tax withholdings. Provide support to employees with payroll inquiries and concerns
Audits:
Prepare and assist with internal and external payroll audits. Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audit processes
Collaboration:
Work closely with HR, finance, and other departments to coordinate payroll activities, address cross-functional issues, and implement process improvements
Training and Support:
Provide training and support to relevant stakeholders on payroll processes, policies, and systems
Ad Hoc Projects:
Participate in special projects related to payroll or other HR matters, such as system upgrades, process automation initiatives, and mergers/acquisitions Required Skillsets This is a position based out of our Stamford CT headquarters with little to no travel 5+ years of experience in payroll processing and analysis Attention to detail and accuracy is critical, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality Proficiency in UKG Pro payroll software or similar HRIS (Human Resources Information System) platforms is preferred In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements in both the United States and Canada Process equity (stock plan and ESPP), commissions, and incentives Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trends Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments Knowledge of benefits, compensation and/or employment law a strong plus.
