70k-80k A mission-driven nonprofit organization is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join its finance and HR team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable managing payroll for a mid-sized employee population. The Payroll Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations. Why You'll Love This Opportunity Join a purpose-driven organization making a meaningful impact Collaborative work environment with strong team support The Payroll Specialist will have high visibility across HR and finance Opportunity to take ownership of payroll processes and systems Key Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist As a Payroll Specialist , you will: Process payroll for approximately 500 employees on a regular schedule Ensure accuracy of payroll data including hours, deductions, and benefits Maintain and manage payroll records within Paylocity Review payroll reports and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations Handle employee payroll inquiries and provide timely support Assist with payroll-related reporting and audits Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to ensure accurate employee data Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll and employee information Support process improvements and efficiencies as a proactive Payroll Specialist Preferred Qualifications of the Payroll Specialist 3+ years of experience as a Payroll Specialist , ideally within a nonprofit environment Must have experience with Paylocity Experience processing payroll for mid-sized organizations (hundreds of employees preferred) Strong understanding of payroll laws, compliance, and reporting High attention to detail and accuracy Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities as a Payroll Specialist #
