None Purpose:
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for managing and processing payroll for all employees in an accurate and timely manner. This role ensures compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies while providing excellent service to employees regarding payroll inquiries and issues. This role will also perform general accounting duties such as reconciliations of payroll related items.
Responsibilities:
o Process end-to-end payroll on a weekly basis for 500+ employees o Monitors time reporting system to avoid payroll errors and contacts the responsible parties requesting corrective action when necessary o Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating and entering data. o Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions and job title and department/division transfers. o Maintains 401k loans and amortization for proper deductions o Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer's social security, unemployment and workers comp. payments. o Resolves payroll related employee questions and concerns o Enters data from standard forms and reports into appropriate systems, spreadsheets or databases o Analyzes and processes documents after examining for completeness and accuracy o Research incorrect information received, determines the proper accounting treatment, and recommends corrections to the transaction originator o Processes payouts related to bonus and commission or incentive programs o Communicates with others in the organization to answer payroll or accounting related questions or resolve issues - Processing of 1094 and 1095c as well as W2's o Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies o Assist with audits and year-end tax filings, including W-2s, 1099s, and other related documentation o Collaborate with HR and Accounting/Finance teams to ensure alignment of employee records and financial reporting
Requirements:
o 5 years' experience in payroll processing preferred o Strong understanding of payroll processes, taxes, and employment legislation o Understands accounting fundamentals such as debits, credits, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and budgets o Understands minimum wage laws, confidentiality policies, employee notification requirements, and other regulatory policies o Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office plus internet functions o Proficient in payroll software and MS Office (especially Excel) o Experience with Sage preferred o High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality o High School Diploma or equivalent experience required o Degree in Accounting/Finance/Human Resources discipline is preferred o Sense of humor Requirements Back To Listings
