Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our finance team! In this vital role, you will manage end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for all employees. Your expertise in payroll management systems and accounting software will drive efficiency and compliance across our organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a thriving company committed to excellence, innovation, and employee satisfaction. Duties Process payroll using systems. Perform data entry and maintain accurate records for employee hours, wages, benefits, taxes, and deductions. Reconcile payroll accounts through general ledger accounting and account reconciliation procedures. Prepare journal entries related to payroll transactions and ensure proper debits & credits are posted. Administer benefits programs including benefits administration and non-profit accounting functions. Collaborate with human resources to ensure compliance with tax regulations and labor laws. Conduct analysis of payroll data to identify discrepancies or errors and resolve issues promptly. Maintain detailed documentation of payroll processes, audit trails, and related reports. Assist with accounts payable/receivable processes and governmental accounting requirements as needed. Requirements Proven experience with payroll management. Strong knowledge of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, general ledger reconciliation, debits & credits, and journal entries. Familiarity with financial concepts related to payroll processing, benefits administration, and tax compliance. Proficiency in accounting software. Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing). Ability to analyze complex financial data and perform account reconciliation effectively. Knowledge of human resources functions related to payroll and benefits administration. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in bookkeeping and record keeping. Understanding of governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices is a plus.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
