C. Taylor Co. is seeking a highly motivated, personable, and confidential Payroll Specialist. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing employee payroll, verification of time reporting and accuracy, and processing salary adjustments. In addition, the Payroll Specialist processes new hires and rehires in payroll, completes employee department transfers and status changes, and maintains records of paid time off and other leave. Qualified individuals will demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, perform tasks without repeated instructions, deliver exceptional internal customer service, and work with limited supervision. Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities Accurately prepare and process payroll for both weekly and bi-weekly paid employees. Configure new hires and re-hires in payroll system (Vista by Viewpoint). Process transactions and day-to-day administration for our 401(k) plan. Set up and record wage garnishment orders and payments, state and federal withholding payroll and unemployment taxes, and maintain annual limit balances and rates. Balance employee withholding and unemployment accumulations. Prepare W-2 information and notify employees wishing to continue W4 exempt status each year. Complete and submit federal, state, and local tax reports and payments, unemployment reports and payments, certified payroll reports, bureau of labor statistics reports, and OCIP reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Setup and process prevailing wage payroll calculations when applicable. Monitor employee records for paid time off and benefit information. Process position changes, location/field office changes, and wage changes. Transmit payroll related transactions to third party vendors. Reconcile all payroll-related general ledger accounts, including employee accounts receivable. Process manual payroll transactions such as variable compensation payouts, special payroll bonuses, employee termination payouts, late time, and corrections, etc. New year Setup involving annual limit balance and new year rates
