As a Payroll Specialist, you are responsible for ensuring that hourly craft employees are paid accurately and timely for their work. This role requires advanced knowledge of payroll regulations, previous experience in payroll software or systems, and ability to demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving skills and internal customer service. As a Payroll Specialist, you will learn and utilize established best practices to achieve success, operate well in a high-functioning team to deliver results, and do so in a way that embraces Waldinger's values and the expectations of the customer. Their work is guided by leadership ensuring accurate and timely payment of employees while maintaining compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
Process field payroll, the computation of pay, and associated deductions for accuracy. Responsible for accurate preparation, documentation, distribution, and reconciliation of payroll. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of city, state, local and federal legislation affecting payroll and understands and follows applicable provisions. Complete monthly union fringe reports Responds to and resolves any inquiries regarding paychecks or payroll reporting. Ensures payroll issues are escalated and resolved promptly.
Requirements:
Associate degree in Accounting or a related field 2 years in a union construction payroll position preferred Excellent customer service skills An eye for detail and an analytical mindset Ability to take initiative and problem solve independently
