Position Highlights The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the accurate entry of payroll earnings and deductions and to have complete understanding of all payroll practices, policies, contracts and procedures to ensure all employees are compensated according to FLSA. Responsible for the timely and courteous follow-up to all customer inquiries. Provides support and maintenance to the current time and attendance system as needed. This position also assists in the Accounts Payable process.REQUIRED
EDUCATION and/orEXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. One or two years college level education preferred. One to three years prior hospital-based payroll operation experience preferred.POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Annual influenza vaccinations are mandatory for all employees by December 1, unless a medical waiver is signed and approved. Completion of the Child Abuse & Dependent Adult Abuse courses for Iowa Mandatory Reporters within 90 days of employment and every 3 years thereafterESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Processes payroll using API, Workday and ADP. Clarifies clocking inconsistencies with manager or supervisor. Calculate and review overtime, differentials, special rates, deductions, benefits and other payroll date for unusual or changed data. Related duties include, but are not limited to, daily file maintenance, entering data for new employees, making changes to status, pay, deductions, etc., processing payroll bi-weekly, posting and distributes payroll reports to department heads. Maintains and updates the policy and procedures for payroll procedures. Maintains and updates information for 1099s and W2s, prints and distributes the forms on an annual basis. Completes the 941 and Unemployment forms quarterly and sends these forms out on or before their required due date. Perform or assist with all audit requirements. Processes State and Federal taxes, 401k, and 401k Loan Repayments and submits them, on or before due dates, to the appropriate places after each payroll. General filing duties. Performed duties to back up Accountant and Accounts Payable Specialist. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
