Job Description

We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join a chemicals manufacturing organization in Decatur, Alabama. This contract opportunity with the potential to go permanent is ideal for a detail-oriented payroll specialist who can manage high-volume processing with accuracy and consistency across multiple jurisdictions. The role will support timely employee compensation, maintain payroll records, and help ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Responsibilities:
  • Process end-to-end payroll for a large employee population, ensuring wages, deductions, and adjustments are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Administer multi-state payroll activities while following applicable tax, wage, and reporting requirements in each jurisdiction.
  • Use ADP Workforce Now to enter, review, validate, and finalize payroll data for regular and off-cycle runs.
  • Audit payroll records to identify discrepancies, resolve errors, and maintain complete documentation for each pay period.
  • Partner with HR, finance, and site leadership to address payroll questions, employee changes, and compensation updates.
  • Reconcile payroll-related reports and support compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with payroll administration during periods of increased workload and provide dependable coverage for ongoing business needs.
