Job Description
The Payroll Assistant supports the accurate and timely processing of payroll across multiple dealership locations. This role ensures compliance with company policies and applicable laws while maintaining confidentiality and providing excellent internal customer service to employees and managers. Responsibilities Assist in processing weekly/bi-weekly payroll for all dealership employees Review timecards for accuracy, missing punches, and proper approvals w/management Verify sales commissions vouchers with management Assist with month-end reports New hire onboarding Assist with PTO tracking and accrual updates Respond to employee payroll questions in a timely and professional manner Support audits by maintaining accurate payroll documentation and records Generate payroll reports for management as needed Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws Maintain employee personnel file changes Assist with year-end reporting and payroll audits Qualifications High school diploma required 1-3 years of payroll, accounting, or administrative experience (automotive dealership experience preferred) Familiarity with payroll systems Basic understanding of payroll laws and tax regulations Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
