Payroll Specialist

M-F 8:00AM-4:30PM
JOB CATEGORY

Up to $50,000 annually
STATUS:
Full-time Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's Degree in Business Administration or Accounting preferred. Two years of payroll administration experience required.
Requirements:
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency. Public service orientation and commitment to excellent and genuine customer service. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software. Thorough knowledge of payroll tax and compliance standards. Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employee's hourly rates, salaries, other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, and other information. Maintains employee records (new hires, terminations, pay changes) Reviews timecards for completeness and import timekeeping (LOW Payroll interface or manual uploads). Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, garnishments, and other deductions. Performs accounts payable functions for providers/vendors of employee benefits and other deductions. Corresponds and problem solves in a professional manner with staff, co-workers, and leadership. Works with Human Resources as it relates to new hires, deduction changes, and various items. Other duties as assigned.
