Job Type:
Temporary/Hourly (40 hours per week) Position Summary We are seeking a detail‑oriented and dependable Temporary Payroll & Accounting Specialist to support payroll processing and related accounting activities. This role will focus on ensuring accurate, timely payroll administration, maintaining payroll and compensation data integrity, and assisting with basic reporting and reconciliation. The ideal candidate has hands‑on payroll experience, strong attention to detail, and working knowledge of accounting principles. This is a temporary, full‑time assignment designed to provide operational support during a high‑volume or transitional period. Responsibilities and Expectations Key Responsibilities Payroll Administration Process end‑to‑end payroll accurately and in compliance with company policies and applicable federal and state regulations Review and validate time and attendance records; research and resolve discrepancies Calculate and process wages, bonuses, commissions, and other earnings or adjustments Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation Stay current on payroll tax regulations and labor law requirements Accounting & Reconciliation Support Assist with payroll‑related general ledger entries and reconciliations Support coordination between Payroll, Accounting, and HR teams to ensure accurate financial reporting Help reconcile payroll reports, deductions, and employer taxes Provide audit support as needed for payroll‑related inquiries Required Skills & Education Requirements Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience Proven experience in payroll administration Working knowledge of payroll systems and HRIS platforms Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy Understanding of federal and state payroll regulations Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities Effective written and verbal communication skills Self‑starter with the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment Preferred Accounting background or coursework Experience with payroll reconciliation and general ledger support Experience using Paycor Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration 3+ years of payroll and/or accounting experience Who We Are Equity Bank, a full-service, $7.9 billion community bank, is based in Wichita, Kansas, with over 80 bank offices throughout Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.
