Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist and HR professional to join our team. In this multifaceted role, you will manage payroll processing, ensure compliance with labor and tax laws, and support human resources functions. Your expertise will help maintain accurate financial records, streamline payroll operations, and foster a positive employee experience. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to organizational efficiency while working with cutting-edge payroll and HR systems. Duties Process payroll accurately and efficiently using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, Ceridian, or other supported payroll software. Manage employee data entry, updates, and maintenance within HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) platforms. Ensure compliance with employment and labor laws, tax regulations, and payroll tax requirements by staying current on legal updates. Reconcile accounts related to payroll, benefits administration, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger accounting. Prepare journal entries, conduct account reconciliation, and perform analysis of payroll data for accuracy. Administer employee benefits programs including enrollment, changes, and inquiries while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information. Support HR functions such as onboarding, employee record management, time & attendance tracking via Kronos or similar systems, and assisting with HRIS updates. Requirements Proven experience with payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro or Ceridian; familiarity with Time & Attendance systems like Kronos is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of employment law, labor law compliance, payroll tax law, and financial concepts related to payroll management. Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks or similar platforms; experience with governmental accounting or non-profit accounting is a plus. Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret financial data accurately; proficiency in spreadsheets and general ledger reconciliation is essential. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining high levels of accuracy in data entry and bookkeeping tasks. Strong understanding of human resources processes including benefits administration and HR systems management. Technical accounting skills such as double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, accounts payable/receivable reconciliation are required. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment; 10-key typing proficiency is advantageous.
