Job Description

Job Summary Roessel Joy is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Tax Analyst to join a growing finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing payroll tax compliance, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting the organization's financial operations related to payroll and taxation. Your expertise will help us maintain regulatory adherence while optimizing our payroll processes. Duties Prepare and review payroll tax filings, including federal, state, and local tax reports, ensuring timely and accurate submissions Reconcile payroll-related accounts such as liabilities, general ledger entries, and balance sheets using accounting software like QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations related to payroll taxes, estate planning, securities law, and other relevant areas to ensure ongoing compliance Collaborate with internal teams on audits, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls, to verify accuracy of payroll data and financial reports Support payroll processing by analyzing financial concepts such as debits & credits, GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and double-entry bookkeeping practices Assist with financial report writing and interpretation related to payroll taxes and compliance metrics Conduct account reconciliation and analysis to identify discrepancies or potential issues in payroll tax reporting Requirements Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; professional certification such as CPA or CMA is a plus Proven experience in payroll tax administration, tax accounting, or public accounting with a focus on payroll-related compliance Strong understanding of regulatory reporting requirements for payroll taxes across multiple jurisdictions Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms; experience with financial software is essential Knowledge of estate planning, wills & trusts & estate law, securities law, and non-profit accounting is advantageous Proficiency in financial analysis skills including account reconciliation, financial statement preparation, and interpretation of complex financial data Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret financial reports accurately and identify discrepancies quickly Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments and supporting audit processes #RJAF123

$100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
