Type:

full-time Payroll & Accounting Administrator - Boston, MA We are seeking candidates for a Payroll & Accounting Administrator position with a prestigious law firm located in Boston, MA. This position will support a large payroll system conversion and will play a key role in transitioning multiple trust payrolls from Paychex to TEAM Software Payroll. The ideal candidate will have strong payroll experience, preferably with payroll system conversions and multiple concurrent payrolls, along with a solid understanding of basic accounting, billing, and reconciliation processes. This is a 3-6 month contract position that will pay $40-42/hr (depending on experience) within a 40-hour workweek. This position is required to be onsite in their Boston office.

Responsibilities:

Lead and support the conversion of multiple trust payrolls from Paychex to TEAM Software Payroll. Set up and configure payroll accounts by individual trust and EIN. Review and validate employee demographics, payroll information, deductions, and other data to ensure accuracy during conversion. Configure and verify multi-state payroll deductions, tax requirements, and garnishments. Coordinate with Paychex and TEAM Software to resolve conversion, setup, and system-related issues. Complete pre-payroll testing and validation for each trust to ensure payrolls are accurately configured before processing. Run and review payroll reports by trust and investigate discrepancies as needed. Support the completion of system questionnaires and other documentation required as part of the conversion process. Assist with closing payroll accounts and completing necessary administrative activities in various states. Process and manage ongoing client payroll following successful conversion. Develop and maintain SOPs and payroll documentation to support consistent, compliant, and efficient payroll processes. Assist with accounts payable, billing, invoicing, and related accounting activities within a trust environment. Process cash transactions, including disbursements, receipts, and multi-system reconciliations. Assist with securities transactions, settlements, free activity, and position reconciliations. Support client registrations and online account access. Assist with account openings and closures, record maintenance, tax updates, and statement reviews. Partner with Trust Administrators and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of client requests. Provide high-quality client service and maintain strong communication with clients and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience in payroll, accounting, or bookkeeping will also be considered. 3-5+ years of payroll experience, including experience processing multiple payrolls simultaneously. Prior experience supporting a payroll system conversion or implementation strongly preferred. Experience with Paychex is highly preferred. Experience with TEAM Software Payroll or similar payroll platforms is a plus. Basic accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, billing, and reconciliation experience preferred. Familiarity with multi-state payroll, payroll tax requirements, deductions, and garnishments. Experience within a trust, financial services, wealth management, or professional services environment is a plus. Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel. Experience with payroll systems such as Paychex, ADP, Paylocity, or similar platforms. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple payrolls, trusts, and competing priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams, clients, and external vendors.
