Job Description

This position contributes to the mission of Spurwink by ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of financial information. The Payroll Specialist, under the general supervision of the Payroll Manager, is responsible for processing the organization's bi-weekly payroll ensuring the accurate payment and reporting of staff wages. This is a full-time hourly Monday through Friday position.
DUTIES:
Process the bi-weekly payroll for all Spurwink Services employees. Process paper checks for distribution as necessary. Maintain compliance with changing tax codes and payroll related regulations. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all payroll and employee data. Assist with the annual financial audit as well as the yearly self-insured worker's compensation audit. Maintain communication with management and staff via Payroll email box.
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree in Finance/Business and/or applied knowledge and experience in the area of payroll. A minimum of (2) years' experience with payroll processing using an electronic payroll processing system in an organization of equivalent size.
