Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing across multiple states while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience with payroll systems, and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll accurately and on time using Workday Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions Coordinate payroll tax filings and payments through OSV Review and reconcile payroll data, including earnings, deductions, and benefit withholdings Audit and verify timekeeping records for completeness and accuracy Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data integrity within Workday Ensure retirement account contributions and loan repayments are processed, funded, and maintained accurately Prepare and compile data for annual Workers' Compensation and 401(k) audits Monitor and process employee promotions, transfers, and terminations in a timely and accurate manner Support year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation and distribution Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Benefits teams to ensure accurate payroll processing Respond to employee payroll-related inquiries professionally and promptly Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation as needed Required Skills & Abilities Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations, including multi-state payroll requirements Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for reporting and analysis Experience with Workday or similar payroll systems preferred Ability to develop, improve, and maintain end-to-end payroll processing procedures to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance Familiarity with payroll tax services such as OSV or similar platforms High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organization Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Strong communication skills with the ability to explain payroll information clearly Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion Demonstrates sound judgment, critical thinking, and professionalism Works effectively both independently and as part of a team Education & Experience Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 2-4 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-state environment We Put People First in all that we do.
