Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll/Accounting Clerk to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will manage payroll processing for a union contractor, ensure accurate financial record-keeping, and support various accounting functions. Responsibilities Process weekly payroll using Sage 100, ensuring timely and accurate employee compensation Reconcile payroll accounts and perform general ledger accounting tasks with precision Maintain and update employee records in payroll system Prepare journal entries for payroll and other financial transactions, adhering to double-entry bookkeeping principles Contract billing and job costing Prepare monthly sales tax returns Monthly bank reconciliation Proven experience in payroll management, accounting, or finance roles with familiarity in payroll systems such as Workday, Kronos, Ceridian, or ADP Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, including general ledger reconciliation, debits & credits, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping Proficiency in spreadsheets and financial software; experience with QuickBooks, HRIS systems, or similar platforms is highly desirable Excellent analysis skills with the ability to perform account reconciliation and identify discrepancies efficiently Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Join us in a role that combines technical expertise with a passion for accuracy!
