Job Description

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to support a three-week contract role. This role centers on unemployment tax audit activities, payroll-related data review, and accurate spreadsheet reporting. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with state tax websites, analyzing wage records, and handling payroll information with precision in a deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Review unemployment tax audit details by accessing state websites and gathering required payroll-related information for assigned client accounts.
  • Compile findings from client payroll records and organize the data accurately in Excel for tracking and reporting purposes.
  • Examine wage information, validate figures against available records, and calculate amounts using established rates and formulas.
  • Perform audit-style reviews of payroll and time-related data to identify discrepancies and ensure documentation is complete.
  • Maintain accurate records of tax and wage review activity while supporting timely completion of assigned audit tasks.
  • Work through multiple client files efficiently, ensuring information is entered consistently and aligned with reporting requirements.
  • Use payroll knowledge to interpret employee wage data and support compliance-focused reporting activities. Requirements
  • Background supporting state payroll operations and related compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with payroll functions for organizations with approximately 101 to 500 employees.
  • Strong Excel skills with the ability to organize, calculate, and validate payroll-related data.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy when handling wage records, tax information, and audit documentation.
  • Ability to manage repetitive, detail-heavy tasks while meeting deadlines in a Contract role.
