Systems, Inc. is a design/build commercial construction company headquartered in Rochester, Minnesota since 1972. Our specialty in one-stop shop for all of our customers' building needs. Design/build is the most effective way to build high quality buildings, combining form, function, and cost effectiveness without sacrificing quality. We have worked with notable companies such as Viracon, McNeilus Steel, Alumacraft, Wells Fargo, Hormel, Pepsi-Cola, Fed-Ex, Rochester Medical, Halcon, West Bank, and Tom Kadlec Honda. We are an 100% employee owned (ESOP) dedicated to the success of our client partners. Along with a team of Architectural Drafters, Architectural Designers, 3D Modelers, and an On-Staff Architect, and we partner with the best civil, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical engineers. During construction, we have our own steel erection, carpentry, and roofing crews, and partner with expert sub-contractors, while overseeing all divisions of the project as the general contractor. A.B. Systems is growing and needs exceptionally quality minded candidates. We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll Specialist to join our growing construction team. This position is responsible for accurately processing weekly and bi-weekly payroll for field and office employees. The ideal candidate has construction payroll experience, is highly organized, and can manage payroll in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and varying pay rates.
Key Responsibilities:
Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees. Review and verify employee timecards, job costing, overtime, and labor allocations. Maintain employee payroll records, deductions, garnishments, benefits, and direct deposit information. Process new hires, terminations, wage changes, and employee status updates. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations. Prepare certified payroll reports when required. Track vacation and personal time off Reconcile payroll records and assist with quarter-end and year-end reporting. Respond to employee payroll questions in a professional and timely manner. Assist with payroll audits and other accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
Associate's degree in accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred. High School diploma plus relevant job experience considered. Minimum of 2-5 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in the construction industry. Knowledge of prevailing wage, certified payroll is a plus. Proficiency with payroll software (Sage 300 CRE) and Microsoft Excel. Understanding of payroll taxes, deductions, and wage and hour laws. Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Experience Construction payroll and job costing. Certified payroll reporting.
