Job Description

Ready to grow your payroll career with a company that's always moving? J-Berd Companies is hiring a Payroll Assistant to join our team and play a key role in keeping our workforce paid accurately and on time. You'll work across multiple companies, gain hands-on experience with the full payroll cycle, and be part of a team that values precision, integrity, and getting things done right the first time.
Responsibilities:
Review timecards, earnings, deductions, reimbursements, bonuses, and PTO balances for accuracy Support off-cycle payrolls, final pay calculations, and special payment requests Maintain employee records, compensation changes, deductions, tax updates, and employment status changes within the HRIS system Assist employees with payroll questions and changes Prepare payroll reports for various teams Maintain and submit required labor compliance documentation (LCP Tracker or equivalent systems) Research and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely, accurate, and professional manner Ensure organizational compliance with federal and local regulations, auditing, and non-discrimination laws Assist with special projects, audits, and payroll system enhancements as needed

Fridays:
8 am•
Noon Qualifications & Skills:
AA degree or 1-2 years related experience is preferred Payroll preparation experience and knowledge is preferred Experience with multi-company or multi-entity payroll processing preferred Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion Effective, timely, and professional communication skills Flexible, team player, who is also self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision Exceptional time managements skills, ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize projects, and meet deadlines Proficient in Microsoft and a strong computer aptitude General math skills Willingness to work beyond standard hours on an occasional basis to meet payroll processing deadlines
