Job Description

We value a collaborative, team-oriented culture that encourages growth, innovation, and success. We are looking for a Payroll Clerk to join our accounting team. This role is responsible for accurately processing payroll and maintaining employee payroll records while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Key Responsibilities Process weekly and/or bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees. Submit project-specific weekly certified payroll as needed. Calculate wages, overtime, deductions, garnishments, bonuses, and other payroll adjustments. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations. Complete weekly, monthly, and quarterly union fringe benefit and tax reporting. Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Assist with payroll tax reporting, W-2 preparation, and year-end payroll activities. Reconcile payroll reports and assist with month-end accounting functions. Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information. Assist with audits and provide payroll documentation as requested. Key Qualifications Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred. 2+ years of payroll processing experience preferred. Knowledge of payroll practices, wage and hour laws, and payroll tax regulations. Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Strong communication and customer service skills.
