Summary:
Responsible for assisting the Benefits/Payroll Coordinator with the day-to-day operations of benefits administration and payroll processing. This role acts as a liaison between other departments, employees, and outside vendors, helping to ensure timeliness, accuracy, and compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Daily report processing and auditing for payroll and benefits programs.
- Records maintenance (Medical, dental, vision, disability (short/long-term), group term life, HSA, COBRA, LOA).
- Administer Healthy Baby program.
- Administer Wellness program.
- Assist with Benefits Open Enrollment.
- Biweekly and monthly payroll processing including reporting, reconciling, and auditing.
- Compliance (Federal/State/Local).
- Employee Support.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Benefits and/or payroll experience preferred.
- Willing to work flexible hours when needed.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Good time management skills.
- Able to multitask.
- Excellent attention to detail including follow-up.
- Work well both independently and in a team environment.

Duties Assist with the processing of payroll using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paylocity, or UltiPro, ensuring timely and accurate payments. Support benefits administration activities including enrollment, changes, and terminations for programs like FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act), workers' compensation, and health insurance plans. Collect and analyze data related to employee records, benefits utilization, and payroll transactions to ensure data accuracy and compliance with company policies. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws such as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and labor regulations to ensure adherence in all processes. Assist with regulatory reporting requirements related to Medicare, OSHA, and other federal or state agencies. Support onboarding activities by coordinating employee orientation sessions and training programs on benefits options and HRIS systems like Oracle HCM or Lawson. Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve payroll discrepancies, benefits inquiries, and employee relations issues efficiently. Skills Strong understanding of payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, Paylocity, or Kronos; experience with Dayforce or SAP SuccessFactors is a plus. Knowledge of benefits administration including FMLA, workers' compensation, HIPAA compliance, and employment law. Proficiency in HRIS platforms like Oracle HCM, Lawson, UltiPro, or PeopleSoft for data collection and analysis. Excellent communication skills to clearly explain benefits options, policies, and procedures to employees at all levels. Ability to interpret contracts, employee evaluations, and legal regulations to ensure compliance and accurate reporting. Experience with regulatory reporting requirements for agencies such as Medicare or OSHA. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for processing payroll transactions and maintaining accurate records.
