Job Description
Onsite in St. Louis, MO Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. From $60,000 per year. The Payroll Specialist processes timely and accurate payroll for CK Power Family of Companies.
What You'll Do:
Process timely and accurate payroll for multi-state hourly and salary employees compliant to internal and external policies and legislation. Update and Maintain HRIS / Payroll system(s) with employee changes including but not limited to payroll taxes, voluntary deductions, garnishments, levies, pay rates, job changes, cost centers, work schedules, and other related transactions. Work with employees and management for effective and reliable Time and Labor and Absence reporting. Troubleshoot time and absence related issues and propose solutions. Perform manual time, labor and absence calculations as needed. Manage and monitor earnings and deductions such as Federal, State and social security tax withholdings, benefits, and retirement 401(k), salaries, absences, etc. for DOL, IRS, and EEO compliance. Reconcile HRIS reports with variance vendor billing statements, retirement plan funding, and HSA deposits. MonitorHRIS EDI
file feeds, investigates file failures and promptly resolves errors. Correspond with Accounting to ensure GL allocations, OTL and absence reports, payroll funding, and banking transactions align. Address employment verification and wage assignment requests. Resolve manager and employee payroll questions and concerns. Perform HRIS data audits to ensure system accuracy and create HRIS reports as needed. Ensure meticulous documentation of payroll transactions and record keeping. Perform mandatory annual payroll related audits including retirement plan census, etc.What You'll Need:
Two-year degree or equivalent experience. 3-5 years of multi-state payroll experience. Analytical and organization skills with ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment with minimal errors. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Friendly, respectful customer-focused attitude. Maintains a high level of professionalism, ethical behavior, and ability to maintain confidentiality with HR and Payroll data. Proficiency in Microsoft suite, markedly Excel and Outlook.What Helps:
