Payroll Specialist Creighton University - 4.0 Omaha, NE Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Customer inquiry handling Full Job Description Under direct supervision, processes time adjustments and changes to pay records; sets up and maintains payroll records and deductions; responds to department inquiries regarding time entry according to the Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division regulations and University policy; works with time clock reporting departments to communicate time reporting issues; ensures integrity of payroll data in system; reconciles assigned general ledger accounts.
Essential Functions:
Process in-house biweekly and monthly payroll. Maintaining employee records, including personal information, tax information, and employment status. Calculate employee pay based on hours worked, overtime, vacation time, and other factors. Ensure that all deductions, such as taxes and insurance premiums, are accurately calculated. Ensure that all payroll activities comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including tax laws, labor laws, and employment standards. Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, including questions about deductions, paychecks, and taxes. Reconcile payroll accounts, including bank accounts and general ledger accounts, to ensure that all transactions are accurate and accounted for. Lead the quarterly testing of the payroll process.
Qualifications:
Previous payroll experience preferred.
