About the RoleThe Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant processing of multi-state payroll across the U.S. This position plays a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and a high level of service for internal stakeholders. The role partners closely with HR, finance, and external vendors to support payroll operations, reporting, and audit activities.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcess and reconcile multi-state, semi-monthly payroll with a high degree of accuracyEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulationsAdminister payroll transactions including wages, bonuses, severance, and garnishmentsPrepare payroll-related journal entries, accrals, and general ledger reconciliationsSupport quarterly and annual tax filings (W-2, 941, etc.) in coordination with vendorsServe as a point of contact for payroll-related inquiriesPartner with HR on employee data updates and benefit deductionsMaintain data integrity across payroll and financial systemsAssist with internal and external auditsIdentify opportunities for process improvements and strengthen internal controls
