Job Description

Why Join Cumberland County Guidance Center? For over 60 years, The Guidance Center has been a primary mental health support agency, providing compassionate, professional care to individuals and families in Cumberland County, NJ. As a non-profit organization, our dedicated team of professionals, including doctors, nurses, therapists, and support staff, works to diagnose and treat all types of mental illness. We're proud to be recognized as the 2026 Non-Profit of the Year by the Greater Vineland Chamber of Commerce, reflecting our dedication to community service and behavioral healthcare excellence. What You'll Do
PAYROLL CLERK
keeps our pay process fast, accurate, and mission-ready—so our teams can stay focused on serving the community. In this onsite Millville, NJ role ($19.00/hr), you'll drive bi-weekly payroll preparation and processing, manage timekeeping details, allocate costs to the right cost centers, enter payroll into an external system, verify accuracy, and prepare the bi-weekly payroll journal entry and related reporting. You start by pulling time entries and scanning for anything that could throw off pay-missing punches, approvals, or cost center questions-then you coordinate quick clarifications so the payroll run stays on track. As the deadline approaches, your focus narrows: clean totals, balanced reports, and a final accuracy check before submission. After payroll closes, you shift into payroll reporting-documenting results, supporting the journal entry workflow, and keeping records organized for smooth follow-through. Our part-time role necessity follows the payroll-period rhythm (Thursday, Friday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday; every other week).
Required qualifications/skills:
Bachelors in Human Resources/Business preferred. Payroll knowledge (required); CASA payroll processing is a strong plus Experience handling a high-volume bi-weekly payroll, ideally in a non-profit setting (residential payroll experience preferred) Strong Excel/Windows skills, accuracy, and deadline discipline If you thrive on precision and want a temporary role with real momentum, apply now.
