The ideal candidate possesses deep payroll proficiency, hands-on expertise with QuickBooks and Payroll, and experience using WorkMax for time tracking. You will manage end-to-end payroll processing, general ledger reconciliations, multi-state reporting, and tax compliance.
THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION
Job Responsibilities for the
Payroll Specialist:
Execute full-cycle payroll accurately and on time using QuickBooks. Journalize payroll entries and reconcile payroll transactions to the General Ledger (GL). Manage, review, and import employee hours utilizing the WorkMax timekeeping system. Prepare and submit federal, state, and local payroll tax withholdings and returns. Handle multi-state payroll reporting, unemployment claims, and state-specific compliance filings. Conduct regular payroll audits, resolve account variances, and assist with month-end closing tasks. Payroll Specialist:
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, debits/credits, and general ledger reconciliation. Proven, hands-on experience running full-cycle payroll. Strong proficiency in QuickBooks (Payroll and Accounting modules) and WorkMax timekeeping. Solid understanding of payroll tax laws, filings, and state-level reporting requirements. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent work experience preferred. Compensation for the
