Job Description
Basic Purpose The payroll analyst is responsible for the testing of updates, modifications and enhancements to the payroll functionality of the human resources information technology applications; extraction, maintenance and reconciliation of payroll data for the completion of payroll tax filings, tax payments and regulatory reports, daily maintenance of payroll adjustments, and processing the biweekly payroll. Essential Education, Skills, and Environment Education and Work Experience Bachelor's degree in Business/Accounting or related field from an accredited school and 6 of more years of related experience with 5 years of related experience in multi-state payroll administration or human resources information systems. Candidates that do not possess a bachelor's degree must have a minimum of 10 years of related work experience with 5 years of experiences in multi-state payroll administration or human resources information systems. Specialized Knowledge and Skills Demonstrated skills and knowledge of accounting to reconcile and balance payroll and tax accounts. Demonstrated knowledge to develop payroll accounting processes and complete payroll tax filings. Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, decision-making, identifying key causes and workable solutions skills. Demonstrated skills in creating spreadsheets and databases and extracting information from the human resources/payroll, time entry and general ledger systems. Demonstrated communication, attention to detail, customer service, and organization skills. Able to multi-task and work in both a team oriented environment and independently. Equipment and Applications PCs, word processing, spreadsheet and database software. Work Environment and Physical Demands General office environment. No special physical demands required.
