Horizon Medical Group is looking for a full-time experienced Payroll Specialist to work in our Corporate Accounting office located in Eastgate Corporate Park in Goshen, NY . Horizon Medical is a large multi-specialty physician group with 37 medical offices located throughout Orange County with centralized Accounting and Payroll Departments in Goshen.

Responsibilities:

As our Payroll Specialist you would be responsible for entering and proofing payroll batches from our offices for weekly payroll processing. This would include maintaining and paying PTO hours, overseeing deductions and payments for medical benefits, garnishments, 401K contributions, etc. as well as filing weekly payroll taxes with federal and state agencies and assisting the Controller with disability and worker comp claims. Some additional work hours, working with the Controller, may be necessary in May/June for our employee benefits open enrollment period and in Dec/Jan for year-end payroll processing functions.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this position you must be organized, function well in a fast-paced environment and have a working knowledge of Excel which we use to track a number of payroll related items. Minimum 3 years experience as a Payroll Specialist. The Accounting Dept has high employee morale and offers a collegial, upbeat and modern working environment in a Corporate Park setting with a picnic area and plenty of room for walks during lunches and breaks. We value our employees and offer a year-round casual dress code (jeans included) and summer hours from Memorial Day to Labor Day with half day Fridays. We even have an ice an cream truck visit each summer month and provide free ice cream for all Corporate staff....a particular staff favorite!
