Job Description

Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to accurately process payroll for district employees, ensure compliance with laws and regulations, and maintain complete, up-to-date records. Candidates should demonstrate excellent organization, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
Brief Description:
Serves as a Payroll Specialist performing tasks related to Payroll & Benefits Administers bi-monthly payroll and compensations Assists in the administration of employee benefits
Essential Functions:
Collects data and prepares payment of salaries and overtime Enters attendance and absences Gathers new hire information and enters data Assists in the preparation and remittance of payroll withholdings Assists in the monthly payment of insurance premiums Assists in benefits administration and helps employees with benefit questions/issues Works with other Treasurer's staff on monthly, quarterly, and annual procedures Works with the Treasurer to complete Affordable Care Act compliance, W2s, new contracts, salary notices, and severance payments Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Experience in payroll and/or governmental accounting preferred Experience with
USAS/USPS
accounting software preferred but not required Experience with Microsoft Office Associates degree or higher preferred but not required Professionalism and the ability to protect the confidentiality of all pertinent information Effective communication skills Successful completion of BCI/FBI background checks
Employment Status:
Full time / all year, 8 hours per day, 260 days per year.

$60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
