Description:
SUMMARY :
Responsible for the accurate and timely administration of payroll in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and company policies. Manages employee compensation, tax withholdings, and deductions, while verifying payroll data and maintaining accurate payroll records. Ensures compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, and resolves payroll discrepancies as they arise. Works with Human Resources, Accounting, and other departments to support payroll operations while maintaining confidentiality of employee information.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: Process multiple payrolls accurately and in a timely manner. Review quarterly payroll reports and verify the accuracy of tax payments and filings. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations. Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve payroll discrepancies and related issues. Maintain a thorough understanding of company policies, procedures, and ensure payroll compliance to the employee handbook and applicable regulations. Safeguard confidential and sensitive employee and payroll information in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations. Work independently while collaborating with Human Resources, Accounting, and other departments to ensure accuracy. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
: Working knowledge of timekeeping, payroll processes, and employee recordkeeping procedures. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees and leadership. Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills. High level of professionalism, integrity, self-motivation, and a strong work ethic. Ability to manage multiple priorities while exercising discretion and maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information. Experience using computerized payroll systems and Microsoft Office to process payroll and maintain payroll records. Experience with Paylocity preferred EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
: High school diploma / College degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field preferred. 2 years of experience in payroll or related administrative role preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
: Communicate in English verbally and in writing
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
: Must be proficient at mathematical and statistical calculations.
REASONING ABILITY
: The employee is expected to handle unique or unexpected situations that may not be addressed by current standards, procedures, or precedents.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
: Employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, ascend and descend stairs, possess ability to handle, manipulate or touch objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms. Employee must frequently be able to lift 25 pounds from the floor to waist level. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to clearly focus vision.
